Comics I spent the night with

June 29th, 2001, it was my wife's birthday
Spending the night alone in the house where I'd lived in my younger days

I had to vacate the rented house by next day, the end of the month
Filled with trash my father had left, who'd been a loafer for many months

Had to outsource disposal service, for the trash was too much for myself
I was waiting for the next day's break, thinking of my father's death and life

Long and lonely night I spent with some comics left in the house
Absolutely nonsense, but healed my sense

I once have felt dizzy with a phantom

'I had a quarrel with my wife'
That was the answer which made the calf laugh
　　　　　「妻とケンカしちゃったんだ」
　　　　　そう答えると、子クジラは笑った


'How stupid!', he said
'Stupid as squid!'
　　　　　「バカだなぁ、イカなみにバカ」

A strange fish bigger than he

By the roadside he had found the fish
Making me dish it up was his wish

I found the fact before cut it into half
It's not a fish but a flying whale calf!
　　　　　その魚を真っ二つにしようとした瞬間僕は気付いた
